Please join us for “Walk Like a Mentee,” on Sunday, January 28 from 11:30am-1pm at the Eagan Community Center gym. This information session goes beyond the traditional format, offering families and prospective mentors the chance to get real interaction and conversations with some of mentor and mentee matches.
RSVP to Silas at volunteer@kidsnkinship.org to reserve your spot.
Mentors are always needed for children in the Dakota County community at Kids 'n Kinship. There are currently 38 children waiting to be matched with a supportive adult, and 22 of those youth are boys.
What it's all about:
Kids 'n Kinship is a 51 year old non-profit organization that matches children, who have a need for an additional supportive relationship with carefully screened adult volunteers. Volunteers spend one hour per week with the child out in the community or at their school.
Kids 'n Kinship match individuals (21+), couples, or families with youth ages 5-16 in need of positive role model.
Through their Mentor relationship, the child will form a long-term friendship with a caring adult, receive positive attention and develop the sense of self-worth that is essential to successfully function in life.
You can make a difference in the life of a child or teen living in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville, or Rosemount.
