Individuals, couples, and families interested in learning more about Kids 'n Kinship or becoming a mentor to a child or teen are invited to attend an Information Session on:
Tuesday, January 9 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Heritage Library in Lakeville.
The Information Session is the place to hear about the children who are waiting for mentors, the volunteer screening process, and the activities and benefits provided by Kids 'n Kinship. We also have application materials at Information Sessions. We schedule Information Sessions every few weeks, so if this date is not convenient, we'll plan a date and time that works for you.
Positive role models are needed - as a volunteer mentor you would get together with your matched mentee for an hour or two each week doing low cost or no cost activities like biking, baking, playing catch, board games, drawing, going to the park, and visiting the library. Mentoring is fun and rewarding and you can make a huge difference in the life of a child - Young adults who face an opportunity gap but have a mentor are 55% more likely to be enrolled in college than those who did not have a mentor.
