Join us for an upcoming informational session about becoming a mentor at Kids 'n Kinship! (See below for a list of other upcoming informational sessions if this time does not work for you)
Mentors are always needed for children in the Dakota County community at Kids 'n Kinship. There are currently nearly 40 children waiting to be matched with a supportive adult, and 30 of those children are boys.
This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity and we do ask for a minimum one-year commitment, meeting with your mentee once a week
What it's all about:
Kids 'n Kinship is a 49-year-old, non-profit organization that matches children, who have a need for an additional supportive relationship with carefully screened adult volunteers. Volunteers spend one hour per week with the child out in the community.
Kids 'n Kinship match individuals (21+), couples, or families with youth ages 5-16 in need of positive role model.
Through their Mentor relationship, the child will form a long-term friendship with a caring adult, receive positive attention and develop the sense of self-worth that is essential to successfully function in life.
You can make a difference in the life of a child or teen living in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville, or Rosemount!
If these times don't work for you, we will schedule a time that does. Please RSVP to Kate at volunteer@kidsnkinship.org if you plan on attending. See also: www.kidsnkinship.org
