About Us

Flint Hills Resources produces and delivers transportation fuels used throughout the Midwest, including most of the fuel Minnesota’s rely on every day. The company’s Pine Bend refinery in Rosemount has been a major local employer since it was established in 1955. It currently employs more than 1,000 people fulltime, plus hundreds of contractors every day. If you have driven by the refinery recently, you may have noticed they are fast at work on building the largest of its kind solar installation in the U.S. The hundred thousand-panel, 45-megawatt solar development will help power the refinery’s operation and is expected to be complete later this year. The Pine Bend refinery is already among the most efficient refineries in the United States, earning the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® status four consecutive years, and it continues to improve.
